All of our Take A Hike products are deet-free, completely natural, and very effective. We infuse Andiroba Oil from the Brazilian Rain Forest into our proprietary essential oil blend to create a silky barrier that bugs just hate. Key notes of citronella, lemon eucalyptus, and cornmint smell great to you, but not to bugs, and you don't smell or feel like you are slathered in chemicals. We also use Red Raspberry Seed Oil in the body butter and spray to provide additional natural sun protection for up to 3 hours.
To Use the System:
- Use the Take A Hike Soap Bar in the shower or tub.
- Apply the Take A Hike Body Butter immediately after getting out of the shower/tub.
- Take the Take A Hike Lotion Bar and Take a Hike Bug Repellent Spray with you for touchups throughout the day.
Additional Protection Tips: If you want even more protection for high insect areas, use our Take A Hike Essential Oil Blend on your wool dryer balls to infuse it into your clothing. You can also add drops to your candles when outside to create an area barrier similar to citronella candles.

We want you to love your UncommonWares! If it's not a fit, we'll gladly accept returns of unused, stock (non-custom) UncommonWares products within 15 days of purchase.

STOCK PRODUCTS - Stock products at UncommonWares are carefully curated and often in limited quantities. If you're lucky enough to grab some UW goods before they sell out, we feel certain you will enjoy your purchases. If for whatever reason stock items purchased need to be returned, please be sure it's in new, unused condition, in its original packaging and returned to the store within 15 days of purchase. Online Orders: Shipping charges are non-refundable and any return shipping cost incurred will not be reimbursed unless the product arrived damaged or incorrect product was sent. NOTE: Only stock, non-custom/non-personalized products can be returned.
CUSTOM PRODUCTS - UncommonWares custom products are created as ordered, therefore, all personalized/custom product sales are final. It is rare, but if your item arrives damaged or is defective, it must be reported within 10 business days for replacement. Simply email 4service@uncommonwares.com with a photo of the damage and any details about your order so we can efficiently process your replacement.
Please note that as a result of different textures and finishes colors will vary on products whether digitally imprinted or dyed. Products from separate dye lots may result in color shift. We always recommend coordinating instead of matching. In addition, what is shown on your screen may vary from your finished product. Slight color shifts are not considered defective and therefore cannot be returned nor replaced.
