Bay Shogrin, Artist
Bay Shogrin is a Mixed Media Artist, Educator, and Writer.
She attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received a B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences and a B.A. in Art. Her work aims to comment on human nature, mental health, gender roles, and the patriarchal view of women. Experimentation is a vital part of her artistic practice. She believes in embracing imagination and the spontaneous process that comes with creating. She has always loved fairy tales and mythology and uses them as inspiration to explore the boundary between whimsical fantasy and horror. Bay also loves plants, nature, and gardening and enjoys working them into her art practice in unique ways. In addition to creating artwork, Bay works with neurodivergent students and advocates for using art and creativity as a means of expression.
